Around & About

With Dorset boasting some of the prettiest countryside and coastlines, it only seems right to go exploring just a stones throw away from The White Hart Pub.

We have compiled a list below of some of the best places to visit whilst visiting The White Hart.

PPlaces to go

Sherborne

A picturesque town situated only 16 miles away from Yetminster. Castle ruins adorn the top of the hills overlooking Sherborne, with Sherborne Abbey proudly taking centre stage from the many tourists who come to visit it. Whether sun or rain, there are many things to do in Sherborne, from cultural events to festivals, and even just seeing the historical high street.

The Jurassic Coast

Being England's only natural World Heritage Site, this is a must-see piece of coastline. The rocks, fossils, and landforms of the Jurassic Coastline have proven to be of amazing universal value. Expanding over 95 miles from Exmouth in Devon to Old Harry Rocks in Swanage, there is much to explore.

Yeovil

If you fancy going to a market or shopping in a historical town, why not hop on a 10-minute train ride from Yetminster to Yeovil. It attracts military and literature enthusiasts due to the largest export of the town being military equipment and being known as 'Ivell' in Thomas Hardy's 'Wessex'. There is much to do owing to a range of shops, theatre, and historical buildings.
